Today is DH's Social Security Disability hearing. He was denied benefits almost three years ago when he first applied. He hasn't been able to work since Oct of 2002. Now it is up to a judge to decide if he is disabled enough to receive benefits. The entire system is messed up! Please keep us in your thoughts today that the hearing goes well.

Oh Lord, honey, my thoughts & prayers are with you for sure. I have travelled that same route with my own DH. I hope everything works out for you & your DH. :)

Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way for DH and getting disability. I know it can be quite frustrating.

Jumping in with good thoughts for you and DH. 3 years is too long to wait for benefits...what a mess.

Oh my gosh, Mary! 3 years, I can't even imagine. And I thought we were doing bad at a year(well we were, but 3! OMG!) Lots of good thoughts, let us know what happens.

My Prayers are with you!! I know that those disability people like to deny at least once before giving in. My mother applied three times in a row before she could get it. And she had an 8 bypass surgery, and is now on dialysis. They are very strict at the social security offices, and I don't see why after all it's our hard worked monies!!

I hope everything went well today! I imagine it will be a little while before you hear anything. 3 years is a long time to wait, how frustrating. The only saving grace is I believe there should be some retroactive benefits if he is approved although I hear there have been some changes in how far back they go now. (I bet her would be grandfathered back though)
