Her favorite color is purple so I have made her 40 purple birthday cards with purple envelopes.

This is my question ... I want to mail them each separately (more fun that way!). Should I start mailing them 40 days prior to her birthday? That seems so far ahead of time? Or should I do something different?

I could mail 10 cards a day for a week before her birthday, that would be over 4 days. What do you think?

Any other suggestions? I will be posting these cards on my blog after her b-day. Don't want her to see them ahead of time! LOL

I was going to do this for my Sis's 40th Birthday last month, but I was thinking that I would have had to mail out the cards more then 40 days in advance since some of them would be after her birthday. Finally I gave up on that idea real fast! :)

I would say maybe try mailing a card now, and se how many days it takes for it to get to her, then you know if you should start sending the cards 43-45 days before her Birthday starts. That way the cards will get to her starting on the 40th day before, & her last card she will get to her on her Birthday.

Make sense? If you want to save money you could always mail 10 cards a week altogether in a package so you that would send 10 each week for 4 weeks before her Birthday.

What a great Big Sister you are!

I say 40 days ahead too. Depending on mail service, she may not get one a day but she may get 3 or 4 in one day. But I think it would be fun to try to get her one a day.

Aren't you sweet!!!

Wow! You're making the post office rich!!! $15.60.... I would give her all the cards as part of the gift... so, she then has 39 beautiful cards to send to other friends and family !!

I like the 40 days of cards. And like someone said, she might not get a card one day, but then get two the next. That would be fun. Just make sure she gets one on her big day.

I would send one a day -- so you'd have to start more than 40 days before her birthday because of Sundays. How fun!

What a great sister you are! I LOVE that idea, forty days of cards, she'd be tickled pink...purple...

this is a great idea, l agree send them 10 by 10 you know the post office, she will never get them all at once, but anyway getting the cards before ls a great idea and sounds like fun, she might think you have gone crazy and call to see if your o.k. LOL

I like the one a day idea, too. Ten at a time would be a giveaway! And, if the last few arrive after her birthday, that's okay too.

I'm voting for one a day. Just keep those cards and letters coming.

My problem with the one a day is I have to start sending 1 a day starting mid-August and I think that is too early. is it just me who thinks this? Its going to give it a way that. I figured if i did closer to her birthday at least its closer ... I don't know what I am doing yet. still thinking about it .

40 days ahead. I want you as my sister Sherri! lol this sounds like so much fun, to be the one giving AND receiving on the other end.
