Every time I have used embossing powder the powder never seems to 'stick" to the paper. It looks like it's melting, but not so. It just rubs off. Any ideas?:mask:

What kind of ink are you using? That could be one reason. Hugs, Heather

Are you using juicy pigment ink or embossing ink with the powder? Regular Dye ink doesn't work.

I'm thinking it's the ink too...Or it could be that you are using glitter instead...I did that a few times when I first started using "embossing powder".
I like to use versamark and versafine ink and sometimes a bottle of embossing fluid...they all work really good.

what kind of embossing powder are you using?

some of it is designed to rub off ( the distress kind from Tim holtz)

some of its just junk and really does rub off ( PSX gold from like 10 years ago)

SU's embossing powder used with Versa Mark works for me...that's the only kind I've used. Are you using a heat tool or blow dryer? May need to heat it longer....just don't burn your fingers. Hold your paper with a clothespin or something.

You most definately need to use pigment ink, or embossing ink. If you are using SU inks, I have found they don't take embossing powder well, even tho my demo said they would if I was "very quick"

Sounds like the ink to me too. Maybe your embossing ink pad is going dry and it's just not wet enough for your powder to stick too.

I heard that EP can get old and not work after a while. I have a bin full of "old" EP and am hoping it isn't TOO old!

My ink and powder are both new. I'm going to see if I can get an embossing pad today. I hope that's the problem.
