Subject: Your punched Christmas cards

Congratulations, Deborah!

We featured your beautiful punched Christmas cards as a project in the November/December '07 issue of The Rubber Stamper! We'll mail you a complimentary copy of the issue.

We'd also like to send you a $75 check as a thank you for sending your original stamped art to us and for being chosen as a Feature Stamper in the issue. Please e-mail me (or call me if you prefer) with your Social Security Number so I can process the check.

Congratulations and warm wishes,

Jill

Yes, it is normal if they give you a payment and then they have to issue a 1099 form at the end of the year so you can claim the income. Since Deborah lives in Canada, I don't know how that works.

Deborah, congratulations to you, this is very exciting!

Congratulations! You are such a talented and creative person -- I'm sure you'll get many more messages like that! I'm also surprised that they would ask for your SS# for $75.

What exciting news! I've never heard of magazines paying for submissions. Your work is well worth it though. I bet they get lots of great feedback about your cards
