i'm making a little coaster book for my friend who's baby passed away in october. i've collected some pictures she shared with me and i wanted to make a little book for her. i wanted to include some quotes on babies, but all the ones i can find say something like "our little miracle" or "congrats on your new addition" or things that just don't sound quite right in this circumstance.

does anyone have any ideas?

Angie, here's a popular poem:

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning
that God was going
to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us
one by one
the chain will link again."

Here's a beautiful poem that I just love but it's copyrighted.

On Losing Your Little One
by James H. Lee Jr.

I wept the other night for you when I saw Jesus' hand
Reach out and take your little one
Into His world so grand.

I thought it such a pity you'd never get to see
Your little child you dearly loved
Reach its maturity.

Your little one was fretful, as fretful as could be,
Until it saw the Savior's scars
He got from Calvary.

Then Jesus whispered something I couldn't understand,
But, oh the look of love He gave,
Was very, very grand.

I wanted to draw near Him, to feel His light divine,
To see the look of tenderness
Which, from His eyes did shine,

But it was not my privilege, although I did see this,
Your happy hearted little one
Receiving Jesus' kiss.

'Twas then I heard a chorus of little children sing,
And I beheld their look of love,
With Jesus answering.

"I am a child of God," they sang, "And He has brought me here,
Has given me a heavenly home
With Jesus, kind and dear."

'Twas then the chorus faded, as Jesus and your child
Passed silently beyond the veil,
And left my heart beguiled.

I saw no grief nor mourning, no, not a single tear,
But joy and true rejoicing
There, with your little "dear."

So, friend, if you are worried about your little one,
Rejoice, as it has gone to live
With God's Eternal Son,

And strive to be found worthy to join the Savior dear,
So you may raise your little one
In a heavenly atmosphere.

God grant you peace and comfort, and soften grief and tears,
For you may be together,
In just a few short years.

You have our sympathy and love.
