Nascar Fans...the Daytona 500 has begun

The race just started for you fans. During the pre-race festivities the Thunderbirds kept flying over our house getting into formation for the National Anthem. Talk about precision flying!

Any prediction for the winner?

We have had all the highlights and shows going for the Daytona 500 on the TV all week long, and I am watching it as I am typing right now.
I am hoping the outcome is a spectacular one for my favorite race car driver!

Cheri, I was going to ask you how Daytona International Speedway Boulevard was earlier. I'll bet it was like a parking lot. Hopefully if and when we go there in August there won't be any tournaments.

Joanne, I didn't go near it today!! But yesterday we had to go out there around 11:00 am and it took forever to go a few blocks down the road. There are not any races scheduled for August so you will be ok.

This time last year we were heading home from Disney. We went through Daytona the weekend prior to the race and you wouldn't believe the number of campers already set up. We came back through on Friday (2 days prior to race) and it's was super crowded.

Were not only watching it but we are dvr-ing it so DH can watch the parts he missed when he was on the computer.

We were hoping Johnson would win but since he was just spun out thats not gonna happen this race.

I had to DVR it too, since DH got called out to a fire. He is just back and watching the race now. I could not watch it live for fear of spoiling it for him!

I was thinking how awesome it is that not only do they pray before the race, but it is still an important part of it and it is always televised! I am proud to be a Nascar fan!
