Well, it's the end of the school year for my children and, to give the wee ones (5-6 year olds) a last hoorah, the school has decided to take them on a little field trip today.

I have volunteered as a chaperone as we embark on a full day at the nature park. We will be doing a nature hike, a scavenger hunt, and will be having a picnic. Then the kiddies get to go for ice-cream. This is all taking place rain or shine and, good golly, it looks like it's going to rain!

Wish me luck! I can't remember a time that I spent the entire day with 25 six year olds, haha.

Sherry, that sounds like fun. If you don't like rain, I hope it doesn't. But I enjoy walking in the rain so I would have a great time if it did. There's no harm in getting a little wet.

I hope you have a fun day. I spend all my work days with 20 five year olds and wouldn't swap it for anything. They see the joy in every little thing. I hope your headache stays home!

Have a blast! I loved being a 'Room Mom' when my guys were young and going along on field trips or doing classroom parties! Now they're 16 and 18 and don't 'need' me anymore (for things like this anyway!)

I remember going on field trips with my kids school outings and it was always a fun day, in retrospect! There are moments where you want to shreik like a banshee, but in the end, it was always enjoyable. Plus, I could look forward to a very sound sleep that night! Have fun, Sherry.
