for friends of my brothers and mine. Rick and his girlfriend (lisa) I think..poo, I've only met her once..they have beeen living in Florida any ways they came up to Maine for a couple weeks to visit family and friends and sere staying at his dad camp , There was a terrible explosion at the camp..the whole thing is gone! Rick and his girlfriend are burned bad on 65% of their bodies. they were lifeflighted to Boston and have had each had 1 surgery so far. They are in critical care. I feel so sad, does one survive that kind of burn?? I don't know. Please if you have a minute will you say a prayer for them?

That will be a rough road for the two of them, infections and pneumonia are the biggest challenges now. Some people do survive but it takes months of therapy and surgeries.
Prayers and positive thoughts for your friends.

Cindi people can survive that kind of injury... it's not a fun road but it's possible. They are getting better and better to give them care.
Keep hope and my prayers are with you and your family and friends.

Oh wow. I will pray for them right now. Yes, it's survivable, but it's horrible what a burn victim has to endure during the process of recovery. It's almost like torture. A friend of ours from church...her brother was in a terrible auto accident around CHristmas and his vehicle was on fire with him in it.....he was burned worse than 65% and he is recovering slowly....but doing okay. Going to pray now......

Glad they have induced the coma's so they are not suffering-yes no news is good news. I can't imagine how terrible this is for them.
Any word on the cause of the explosion?

Any word on the cause of the explosion?

they believe Rick was trying to get the propane heater started, and something went wrong. the neighbors herad 3 explosions so I assume the gas stove and something else must have blown up, also

Oh cindi, how awful. Having spent time as a patient in a burn ward, I have great empathy for their pain. Mine was very minor compared to what they are enduring. Yes, an induced coma is a great thing. You can't even imagine burn patient pain. It's gotta be the highest on the scale. I'm so sorry for them. Keeping them in my prayers.

I feel so sad for them and the families.
Today Ricks girlfriend was upgraded to stable..so that is good news, Rick is still in critical and a coma.

Hopefully soon you will have more good news!
I can't imagine how the families are dealing with this horrific accident.
I have seen those types of injuries in the ER from Coleman stoves etc...
Now the treatments have improved-so hopefully they will have a chance for a good recovery.
I just can't imagine the pain as Tami says- a little burn hurts.

Cindi, I am so sorry to hear about this.
Burns have always been the hardest emergency call for me to deal with
while working for the ambulance.
I am a true believer in miracles and the power of prayer.
May they be blessed by both.
