Dash on over to Target and get a set of 40 colored markers for only $11 this week!

I have this set and like it a lot. They are alcohol based markers, like Prisma and Copic, and there's a great variety of colors in the set.

I can't justify the cost of the Copics and I've really enjoyed using these.

Are they Acid Free?

Yes, they are acid-free. I had to check the pack I have to see. I just use mine on cards not scrapbooks, so it doesn't matter to me.

Thanks for checking. I will definetly a lot cheaper than the other markers.

There was a tutorial floating around a few weeks ago on how to color with BIC's or Sharpies and make it look like Copics. Not sure if I saw it here or Paper Wings. I'll see if I can find it though.

OK, I think this is it!

Vicky, thanks so much. That is a wonderful tutorial. I've saved it to refer to. Some of the techniques I've figured out by trial and error, but this helps a lot.

I just can't stand the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on markers.:nah:

are these (http://www.amazon.com/BIC-Collection-Permanent-Assorted-36-Count/dp/B000OZMSYC)the markers you are talking about?

If you have a local Sam's Club, these markers are always $12 there - for the set of 36. I bought some last week because I'm too cheap for the others and I think the Bics are great. One of my artsy friends told me about them and gave me tips on using them. She only buys the copics or prismas if she can't get that color in Bic.

They are on sale this week (http://weeklyad.target.com/target/default.aspx?action=entryflash&ref=nav%5Fweeklyad). Page 4-5. Along w/the big set of Sharpies. I bought a little set of sharpies last week & I'm trying to decide if I "need" these. Even after watching the tutorial the a Vicki shared, I don't think I can color like that! I love the look but know I don't have the talent!

I'm going to Target today after work. I noticed the fine print on the ad "Not available in most California stores" I'm hoping the Target near me will have them.

do they leave color lines like stampin up/tombow markers or do they blend well like prismacolors?

buggainok

I think they color really well. I have some Prismas and Bics are comparable. I use 3 kinds really, to get the colors I want - Bics, Sharpies and Prismas.

Check out the tutorial that Vickie linked to earlier in this thread to see how they look.

Poop! I just got home from buying these but didn't see the coupon. Oh well I felt 11 was a good price too. I'll let you knwo what I think of them

Erin, if it's not inconvienent to go back, Guest Services will give the $$$ back if you "forgot" your coupon. With gas prices, it might not be worth it for $3 but, if you have to go back, take your receipt & your coupon!

I might do that, I'll be near a target later this week.

I tried them out. I like them pretty well. I will keep them, I like that they can add to my collection. They are WAY darker than I think they should be.

Turns out I already had a huge selection of sharpie markers so I have those to play with too.

I might have enough total markers now.

OH and the case they come in, it's just plastic, but it's pretty cool. it holds them all really nicely. I did get a plastic paper cut from it though and it bleed all over Target. Finally Marcia got a bandaid on me. I was seriously dripping blood on the floor. I tried to clean it up.

I went to Target and ours only had the Sharpie ones for $11 and I already have all of those. But I was still able to find some goodies for myself. A trip to Target is never a wasted one. I always leave with something.

Oh and everyone: they are currently in the back to school section AND the regular office supply section. so if you are out of them in one section check the other. :)

Also if your kids like sidewalk chalk there is a BUTT TON of sidewalk chalk and sidewalk chalk paint and crap like that on clearance in the end caps near the crayola isle. And other cool finds there too. So that's all super fun.

I picked up a set of sharpies today. It didn't look like their bics were on sale here, but I'm still a happy camper.

I now have the BIC markers (even though I have a ton of sharpies). That case is way kewl! I haven't used them on an image yet - I just "lined through" each of the color names so that I can see the colors together at a glance.

My 5 year old DS said when I picked them up that they were for "him" because they were in the school supplies and that I couldn't use them because they were for school.

I got mine the other day ... haven't played yet ... but I did test a few out ... love the case and how vibrant the color seems to be.
