I love clam chowder. My DH doesn't so I usually just buy the Campbells chunky soup. YUM.

lol, that's what my DH does too (campbell soup). However, if you get a good receipe, I'd be more than happy to try it for him.

Hey Angie,

Here is a clam chowder recipe from one of my 'Company's Coming' Cookbooks.

Clam Chowder

1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tbsp minced onion
1 cup boiling water
2 cups cubed, raw potatoes
1/2 tsp salt
pinch pepper
1 5oz can baby clams
2 1/2 cups hot half & half

Melt butter in large saucepan. Add onion and cook until golden brown. Add water, potatoes, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes). Add clams (and liquid). Reheat. Add hot milk. Season to taste. Serve immediately.

Sherry's recipe is very similar to how I make mine, only I use fat free half & half..you can';t tell the difference but your arteries can!;)
I like lots of black pepper and a little parsley in mine too.
now my mom & dad would start theres off with salt pork or a strip on bacon then cook the onions in the drippings, chop the bacon and add it in..so good. I also like to use choppped clams instead of baby whole clame, darn I may have to make some now
:)
