10/27 We have a new surgery date: Monday, November 10th. Thank you to all for your continued prayers and well wishes! Patty
She had the angiogram and they tried to embolize the AVM and were only able to embolize 30%. She goes back in today to try to finish the embolization. They found more vessel/vein problems in the angiogram. Seems she has several inflamed veins that are not connected to the AVM and they don't know why. It could be a disease of the vascular system or just pressure from the AVM or ??? They are bringing in a vascular specialist today. Jennifer has one of the best Dr.s in the world at the UW Harborview neurology and I trust him to give good advice and make good decisions... they may postpone the surgery, they may not. I should know more tonight.
Thank you for your continued prayers. They are so important and we are blessed to be able to reachout to so many here! Thanks again! Patty:183:
UPDATE:
Your prayers are being answered! Jennifer is doing well! They embolized a total of 65% of the AVM. :) The vascular irritation wasn't present today! They said it may have been a reaction to the anesthesia from the day before. Surgery is scheduled for Monday in the morning around 7 am. Please continue to pray for her and if you are able to tell others that they may add her in their prayers I would be so grateful! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! Patty
10/20/08 UPDATE
Jennifer has a urinary tract infection and came back from the OR this morning. They will treat the infection and then when she is healthy again will do the surgery. I am not sure if they are keeping her or releasing her. The doctor will be around in the next hour or so and then I will know more. I hope they keep her just to make sure the antibiotics are working... I will let you know more when I get the info! Thank you again for your prayers and support! Patty
10/23/08 Update
Jennifer is home and doing well. They shaved a lot of patches in her hair and had glue stuck in the rest, she had one GREAT BIG dred lock! I cut it out and tried to do the best I could to "clean" it up without shaving her bald and it looks pretty cute! She goes back to the neurosurgeon to schedule the surgery again in two weeks. So, back to work I go! Thank you again and again for all your prayers and support. If you wouldn't mind keeping it up it will be needed again shortly! Hugs to all! ;) Patty
