OK....going out on a limb here.....
I hope buying a ticket to Detroit is the smartest place to fly into.
However........the roundtrip from Providence is around $550!
That's way too much!
How does Nancy get hers for around $200?
What am I doing wrong?
HELP!!!
Joanie:confused:

That is very expensive- can you fly from Boston (Logan) would that be cheaper?
We usually get pretty good prices with Delta- I would check again -that would buy a lot of stamps. I wish you luck in finding something cheaper.

No!
Lesa wanted to go on Wed. so there's no one to meet us.
I checked Boston....we need non-stop and they don't exist...and it's WAY more money!
dang!

I believe Nancy said Indianapolis might be only 1/2 hour away from where the event is being held.

I think she said she's flying into Detroit....wonder why?
I WISH someone could tell us which airport would be the closest! NO ONE is telling us that very important tidbit of info!

Do you have the link to the place where everyone is staying? I remember it having specific info on closest airports and how many miles away they are.

I just sent Joanie an email with some details I got from Nancy-
It is Fort Wayne that is closest to the Inn but some are flying to Detroit to meet up and travel together.

Ahhhh....I see....well, no one is meeting us.
We're on our own andneed to get a car to find our own way! I'm getting definitely freaked out.
I'll check my other email as that's where Shackie mail goes.

Don't get freaked out. I think Sherri is going to fly in on Thursday morning. I know you said you guys like to get settled, but how would you feel about spending the night at a hotel close to the airport on Wednesday night, and then following us to Indiana on Thursday late morning/early afternoon??? I wouldn't have enough room to carry all of you, but you could follow me. It's only about 2 hours from the airport to the hotel I think.

Fort Wayne is closer. It's like an hour to the hotel. Detroit is 2 hours. However (and I could be wrong about this), I think that Detroit is a much bigger airport, therefore you can get better flight prices...................

But I've never been to the Fort Wayne Airport, so I can't say for sure....

We want non-stop and that's proving to be a major problem.
I know Chris has our rooms booked at the Angola place for Wed. so I'm thinking we probably won't be able to meet up with you.
I will ask Lesa and see what she wants to do...and Cindi!

Man oh man .. these flights are ridiculously high!! What the heck? I know our gas prices are going up so does that mean the airline prices are going up too?????? I still haven't booked anything yet.

And Joanie....It's actually a little cheaper if you book on nwa.com direct. I just priced the flights there, and total with tax and everything for ROUND TRIP is $267.20.

I'm thinking if I can't nail Dave down to get me to you I may need to take a bus. I have never done that..is it doable??

I don't know, Cindi!
I think you would be able to call the bus station and find out where they can take you...like to Providence, for instance! We'll be leaving from Plymouth, I think, so that's another destination.
Lesa isn't on line right now, and I hesitate to call her in case she's in bed, but I'll get on it again tomorrow.
Let me know what you're coming up with too!

LADIES -- consider CHICAGO airport as well. When I first looked into this last year, I went to the website of the Inn where we were staying and it said that the Inn was 2 hours from Detroit and 3 hours from Chicago. Worth checking!

I spent HOURS last year trying to figure out how the heck to get there from here. I tried Ft Wayne (no way -- it would take me HOURS to get to Ft Wayne from here!), Lansing, and others. Then somehow Detroit made sense.

Traci looks like she's found something... Don't give up yet!

Evan uses this website to locate the best fare for his flights - www.itasoftware.com

You can't purchase your tickets from this site and you do need to register (I think) before you can view flights. What Evan does is create a 30 day calendar around the dates he wants to travel and enter the origin and destination airports.. This site will bring up the lowest fares that meet his criteria. He then goes to the specific website to make a booking. I hope this isn't confusing!
