I've done a few trees lately too Sherri.
My latest craze is stamping with distress inks. I have found out that they DO NOT work well with acrylic stamps. I have a bit of a conflict there as I am teaching a distress ink class at my LSS and she currently only sells acrylic stamps. I guess it gives me more ammo to get her stocking rubber stamps...

The sets that I picked from the SU catty were all tree ones. You should have joined my tree swap!

Have you tried "conditioning" those acrylic stamps? I read that a lot of them still have some kind of residue on them from the manufacturing process. You can condition them in a few diffferent ways.
a. try washing them in warm water and a gentle soap, like the liquid hand soap, rinse and let air dry
b. try rubbing them with a white eraser to "dull" the surface
c. try gently "sanding" them with an emery board just so they look "dull."
All of these have worked for me.
I would say to use Chalk Inks, :nah:, but your class is in Distress Inks, so that idea is no good.

Sarah...I recently used distress ink with a very basic handwitten acrylic alpha set...the spotted distress ink makes it look like it was colored with crayons.
For you class you might want to use the inks for backgrounds and stamp with other inks.
