Julie taught me once and I forgot. See how some people will just type "my blog" and it's underlined and it's a link, but I have to type out http://kelloggshow.blogspot.com to get mine. How do you do it the cool way again? I wanna be cool.

And I call myself a moderator, I guess we all have stuff to learn right?

it's easy. when you are making your link, after you enter the url, it automatically highlights the words you will see (the ones in red). simply click them and type what you want. example:

URL="http://www.stamp-shack.com"]http://www.stamp-shack.com[/URL

the words in red will be highlighted.

then change to this:

URL="http://www.stamp-shack.com"]click here[/URL

the words in green are what you changed.

--------------------------------------------------

and this is what you will see:

http://www.stamp-shack.com (http://www.stamp-shack.com)

the words in red will be highlighted.

then change to this:

make sense?

I was wondering that too because I never remember the code.
But the linking feature here doesnt work like that for me.
When I click on it a little box pops up where I put the url. It doesnt give me the option to edit the code like that.

after you stick it in it puts the code in the body of your message where you type and you can edit it then.

Mine doesnt put the code in though, thats the thing.
Mine looks exactly like it looks in my siggy. it doesnt have the [url] stuff.
So my only option is to memorize the code, and its not THAT important to me...lol

Both of those aren't working like I think you want them too...

Type your wording into your signature box. Highlight it and then click the globe/link button. When you put your address into the window, it should make the text you highlighted the link.

ok, i guess i should have clarified. it won't be in color, that was only for the example. and the coding wont show up in your post either. just when you are typing your message.

right. you don't need to edit it then. after you hit "ok" after you type in your url, it will add it to the body of your message. then you can change the url that it will show in your post to the words you want.

is this just confusing you more?

sorry...

I understand what you are saying, but thats not how it works for me.

Ill try putting the url down first and see if that works...

Yeah, that doesnt work for me either.
What I usually do is go to a website that gives you the code, push reply like Im going to post to the thread, insert what I want, then cut and paste it to the mb I want to use it on...lol

I did change the links in my siggy though, and added one for Erin...lol

Getting a link to appear is easy. For instance, if you want your message to look something like this:

Check out this link (http://stamp-shack.com)

Type your sentence.
Highlite the words in your sentence that you want to represent your link.
Click on the button that looks like a chain link with a globe behind it.
Type or paste your url
You're done

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh ok!
I was putting the URL on the page, then hitting the link thingy and trying find someplace to change the name of the url.
Thanks Sherry!! :D
