Oh Sherri, I can't even imagine. We are looking for high schools -- looking for colleges is beyond my imagination! Good luck! At least she's looking close to home! LOL!

Have fun going through the process Sherri. It is stressful at times but it is also a lot of fun. I've been helping the son of my best friend from college prepare for his college interview and it's brought back a lot of memories from when our boys went through it. Be patient with Em ... she will know the right school for her when she knows ... if you can understand that :)

A girl that knows what is important!
Western Carolina is a good school-beautiful setting and safe! But the football team is really, really, really bad. They have only won one game thus far this yr and none last yr. They have a good womens basketball, mens baseball-but football is rarely good.
I received my undergrad and grad degree from there so it is ok that I say the football is bad!

It's true that the child has to be the one to decide where they feel comfortable.
Our DS was accepted at Cornell and University of Delaware...among other places.
Of course, we thought Cornell would just be so great for his resume and all. He just plain felt more comfortable in Delaware!
So that's where he went.
He's now a food scientist and works for a large company in CT.
Just as successful as he would have been if he went to Cornell, I'll wager!

Good luck, I know it was a rough process for our daughter, but only because she wanted to play softball. That's a whole other issue to haggle over in choosing a good college. Hope she finds one that meets all her interests.

I know you remember all the hassles we went through when searching for the "right" college for Corey. You have to let them go where they feel the most comfortable. Corey could have received scholarships from many of the colleges we checked out including Purdue in Indiana BUT he felt very comfortable at Georgia Tech and knew immediately that was where he wanted to go. GT did not offer him a scholarship. My thinking is if we forced him to go where the scholarships were he would not have been happy and would do poorly academically. He loves going to GT and is doing very well there; hence, we made the right decision to send him there. BTW, GT football does play the Carolina Tar Heels so maybe someday we'll be able to meet you at the game. I would love that.
