so it's poetry week in creative writing 340. here is my first poem.

a prize to anyone who can tell me what i'm describing! (ok, not really, but can you figure it out?)

Color so vibrant, yet not.
From a blush, to a flame.
Layers of velvety softness,
After harsh prickles along a stick.
Smell so strong and sweet.

I didn't figure it out, have to think on it. The flame part made me think of a match, but it doesn't have prickly stuff. Is this Haiku? Whatever it is, I like it, good job, Angie.

Now it makes me think of a sparkler. That has prickles on a stick.

it's not a haiku. i probably has no offical poetry rule to it.

no, but that works too!! isn't a poem what the reader interprets it to be?

I love creative writing...but when it comes to poetry, if it doesn't rhyme, I'm lost. You did a great job, Angie....good for you. I'd give you an A+

Great job, Angie!
I hadn't gotten my thoughts together before I read everyone else's guesses, so I'm sure I would have copied them and said 'a rose' too!
Cheater, cheater!
Hope you get an A+
