I received Photo editing software for Christmas, but it's made for Windows Vista, which I don't have, so I have to exchange it. To those of you who edit your photos, which program do you recommend I get? What do you love/hate about yours?

I have Photoshop Elements (7 I think). I like it but, it's not as user friendly as I'd like. And, it doesn't come with a manual. There are a number of things that I have NO IDEA how to do (ok, there are TONS of things I don't know how to do 'cause I don't even KNOW that it does them!!!) but I do like it.

I did discover Walgreens has a FREE photo editing program. I've not downloaded nor do I know exactly what it can do but, here's a link (http://photo2.walgreens.com/storepage?storePageId=Free+Photo+Software), just in case you'd like to try it

I've had Microsoft Picture It! for years.
I know it works with Windows XP.
Not sure about any other operating systems.
I am hoping to pay more for Windows 7 so my older programs will be compatible when the day comes for me to get a new computer.
I am not even sure that Picture It! is available anymore...maybe on EBay???
I love it, but I must say it took me forever to figure it out...no manuel for that either!

Jennifer, what photo-editing software do you have? I have Photoshop Elements and I love it. There is a great blog (http://www.jessicasprague.com/) that has some free and paid-for classes on Photoshop that you might enjoy. Good luck.

I have both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements 8. PS Elements sure does a fine job with photo editing. Photoshop is much more complex and immensely time consuming in the learning curve. PS Elements 8 (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/?sdid=EPZHR) is a fairly new release from Adobe. You can download a 30 day free trail to try it out before purchasing.

Oh you're right! THere's a certified for windows Vista logo on it, but on the side panel it says it can be used with Vista or Windows XP with the latest service packs installed! This might work just fine for me. Thanks!

I received Paint Shop Pro Ultimate Photo X2 for Christmas. My Mom bought it at Target. Here's the description (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Paint+Shop+Pro+Photo+X2+Ultimate+-+Windows/9029106.p?id=1218010539333&skuId=9029106&st=Paint Shop Pro Ultimate Photo X2 for PC) of it I found online at Best Buy. It looks pretty good to me. I just need to make sure it's compatible with my computer system before I open it. What do you think?

I also like Paint Shop Pro. I used to work with it when I worked for a lss. I think it's just as good as Photoshop; maybe even easier.
