not sure this belongs here but....I made sauce (pasta sauce) and put it in 2 cup containers. However, they are not full to the top. There is about 3/4 " space on the top. Is it ok to freeze food like this? I probably should know this by now, but I don't. Thanks:no2::huh:

I don't see why not, it's not like you're planning to save this in case of an apocalypse. It won't be there forever.

You definately need to save a space at the top as most liquids expand in the freezer.

I have frozen sauce before, it will be fine. A lot of times I make a big batch of sauce, and I take what I need and then I freeze the rest. It comes in handy when I'm not sure what to cook.

good good good. Thanks girls! Seems like whatever you do or eat these days there is something about it that will make you sick.

sauce freezes really well..I usually freeze mine in freezer bags, then I can unthaw it quickly in a bowl of warm water, or put it in the fridge to thaw slowly.
