I have a sister and a sister-in-law who both experienced head trauma due to an automobile crash. Both have been on anti-depressants. My sister is much much better (her crash was about 10 years ago, and she is now off of anti-depressants, and very active in her church.) My sister-in-law, who nearly died 3 years ago, is still battling depression and mood swings. The things that seem very minor in detail to us, can cause her to fly off the handle and sometimes people look at her and you can tell they are thinking "are you crazy?" It's been a very difficult road for her immediate family and close friends. We love her, pray for her, offer help, and she does see a counselor and has regular doctor checkups. Anti-depressants have a different affect on different people. What works for one may not work for someone else. Make sure your DH has regular checkups. Counseling for the whole family may also be a good idea. Of course, prayer is #1, and I will certainly keep you and your family in mine.

and keep at it until he feels better. Depression is an illness and requires great restraint from the care givers. Hang in there. Really Hard Nancy A

Hi Jen. I'm so sorry that you are dealing with some tough stuff right now. If you can, sometimes it helps to go for a walk. It does two things: it gets you out of the house and into a new environments and, it helps get your blood flowing which is good for your emotions. I said a prayer for you too.

We have depression on many branches of my family tree. I missed out myself, thankfully, and I'm glad, but it is so hard to deal with in those you love.

Thoughts and prayers coming your way from Oklahoma.
