I bought a grey prisma marker the other day, because I wanted to use it as a shadow for my images, but it is way too dark. :arghh:

I was just wondering what number or color of copic is the best suited for this shadowing outside the images?
Where are the cheapest prices?

Thanks!

If I use a grey I use C-1 or C-3. I've kind of gotten away from using strictly grey for shading. There are some nice grey/blue and grey/lavenders that are a little more cool in color tone and look more like shadows. JMHO

I use C-1 for grey shading. I like to use blue too but I borrowed Robin's so I don't have the # for it.

Just looked at mine, it's a 60%, no wonder it's so dark. To look at the cap, I thought it would be perfect. Next time I will open before I purchase it.

I use W1 and W0 or B00 or B000 or B0000 (especially good for snow). And I buy mine from Oozak too. Best prices I've seen and the service is exceptional.

I make my own custom shading colors. I take an empty marker and mix about 50-50 whatever light color I like (blue is my fav) and fill the rest with blending solution. You can start out with the blending solution and add small amounts of copic ink refill until you get the perfect shade.

typically I use the C1 but sometimes a different color depending on the image. Recently I used a very light yellow on an image and it looked good.
I am going to try some of these other colors tho. BIC gray is a little darker then I like.

That sounds interesting to make your own color. I might have to try this. Thanks

Cool Shadow or Blue Frost are good Copic blues for shading.

I usually use C3, but have used C1 and some other of the greys...
Depends on the project.
