The woes of e-bay I have been down that road too. Spend too much on a stamp when first started bidding so you pay or get neg feedback., unless you work something out with the seller.Be careful on that e-bay it causes loss of all rationale. Ask me I know sensible Mel has banned me from there again as I was hitting the bid button to often and hate to get dinged at the border with duty. Good luck with this one my heart feels for you. Nice stamp have the same one from years ago.Maybe mom won't notice the price....Mel

Thats cute. How much did you pay and how much do they want to ship?

The ones I have are the birthday background. The one that says Happy Birthday with the swirls. I dont think its retired yet.
The other one is one my aunt gave me and its a frame that has alternating solid and open squares around the boarder.

it is 36 including shipping but considering SU has a nice script for 22cdn. would you buy it?

is it just me or is this pretty nasty? this is what the seller wrote me earlier

That's not how Ebay works. You shouldn't bid if you aren't prepared to pay. I will leave negative feedback if you chose not to pay which will not reflect well on you with so little feedback. I'll send you an invoice and you can think about following through with your bid.

Well, I think s/he could have worded it nicer, but I also understand their frustrations too.
Is the $36 CDN? That seems REALLY expensive! Im sorry. I was going to try and help you out here. But I cant see spending that much on a stamp.
What was the actual winning bid? And how much was he charging for shipping? Maybe itll drop the cost down by still shipping in the US? My zip code is 98204 if you want to check (I would, but cant access from work). If the price drops under $30, I might reconsider.

the winning bid was 30us and shipping to the states was going to be 5 from the seller. if you want it i can pay for it and you could pay me $30 us and i can have the seller mail it directly to you.

Hi Chelsey. You need to just pay for it and consider it a lesson learned. The seller was right. If he leaves you negative feedback you will have a feedback of less that 0 which most sellers refuse to deal with. I think that the seller is being fair because the cost of shipping was in the item description.

Sorry.

I agree with Heather. Unfortunately, if you bid on something via ebay, it is a binding contract and you really should pay for it. Hope everything works out for the best!

i hate to agree with the seller but I do she/ he fully stated in the auction what all the prices were. Unfortunely, like other said i think that you just did to chalk this up as a lesson learned and pay for the stamp. Don't feel bad though I know i mad some choices in my life I wish I dsidn't make but you have to deal with it and learn from it. Sorry this is probably not what you wanted to hear.

And do NOT leave her negative feedback. She probably could have been nicer to you but what she said was true. You don't her to come back with neg for you. :) sorry this happened to you.

chelsey -
I agree that you are responsible for the bid - especially since you had made a prior bid and it looks like you put in an "up to" amount.
However, there was another bidder at $30 -- you might try to contact the seller again and ask (nicely) if he might accept the later bid that was made for the same amount. If you go to the auction, under bids placed, you'll see the names and all nine bids on the item. Explain you are a minor, and are just learning the ropes -- maybe they'll cut you some slack.
Next time, be aware if you make a bid - be prepared to pay! :)

It's a nice stamp but, Chelsey what were you thinking girl :) I hope someone offers to buy it for you. If not, do you think you could resell it on the same site. It looks like it has had a lot of interest (100 visitors). Good luck girly :)
