Fruit tortes are really pretty and easy to make. Spread a refrigerator sugar cookie dough on a pizza pan and bake it, then spread the cookie with a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar, then lay out fruit in a pretty pattern and cut it like a pizza. Here is an actual fancy recipe http://www.meals.com/Recipes/Spring-Fruit-Tart.aspx?recipeid=110612

I don't know what they are called, but I really like those hordevoures that are a pickled asparagus wrapped in the middle of a slice of ham spread with cream cheese. I don't know what they are called, but they are yummy. Kind of looks like this only I've never cut the ham, I just use that processed ham that is rectangle http://itsybitsyfoodies.com/ham-and-asparagus-rolls/

I have made this lots of times: Dirt Cake

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/dirt-cake-i/detail.aspx

It says to layer in a flower pot, I've never done that. I just buy the disposable aluminum cake pans . You start with the cookie crumbs, then the rest of the other stuff, then cookie crumbs again, the rest of the stuff and end with cookie crumbs.

I know the picture show gummy worms, I don't use them. I have heard of people using them around halloween though.

I often just use a block of cream cheese, put little shrimp and cocktail sauce over it and serve with crackers. People seem to like that. So easy to carry with you, you can use a fancy paper plate. - Nancy
