The other day I posted a thread about a storage system/desk that someone was giving away for free on Craigslist (http://seattle.craigslist.org/about/cities.html). I didnt end up getting it, but last night I got some other goodies!
6+ years ago when I started stamping, I bought 3 of the 4 sets of the ink pads from Stampin Up and just never got around to getting the 4th set. Then they switched to the new style pads which I dont like, and dont fit in the convenient little holder I have for them. Ive always been on the search for them (my boyfriends mom was supposed to give me a set she had, but thats not working out) on Ebay. They are rare and people usually bid the price up higher than I want to pay.
So the other night after I lost the desk and stuff, I typed in "stamps" in the search field of the site (I was under Seattle/Tacoma so that it would ONLY search my area). Up pops a post with a bunch of SU sets and my ink pads!!
I went and picked them up last night and met the neatest woman who turned out to be a SU consultant :) I ended up staying and chatting with her for about 45 minutes :D I told her about the Shack, so hopefully she'll pop in here. Shes got the COOLEST stamp space! All counters and cupboards.
So I got the stamp pads (the whole set of Rich Regals), Alphabet Soup, Best Blossoms(both of these are BRAND NEW! She mounted them soooo neatly too!!), a Brilliance ink pad, and a couple of small stamps (she gave me for free) for $32!
The better news....Craiglist (http://seattle.craigslist.org/about/cities.html) isnt just for the US, they have listings for Canada, Europe, Australia and many other places! So check it out and see what kind of damage you can do :) I always check the free section, and then do a search for stamps/scrapbook to see whats available. I also bought my cute little dining room set from someone on the site :)
