all I can say is, bring lots of kleenex with you if you do decide to watch it. It completely threw me off-guard. It is a seriously awesome movie. It's based on the book, which I haven't read. But, what I liked about the movie is that Disney told a really complex story without over-dramatizing. I highly recommend it. It's definitely a good movie to take the kiddos to (especially kids fifth grade and older), but do be prepared to talk to them (afterwards) about what happens in the movie, because you may end up with crying kids.

Angie, I didn't read that part! I read that you went to you got together with friends from where you used to work. I guess I missed the Terabithia entry. I wish I had read it. I had to really fight back the tears. Oh. My. Goodness. It was just a lot to handle, wasn't it? But, still, it's such a beautiful story!

Ethel - Good book. My ds read it in 4th grade. Really liked it. Especially since the other option was The Giver which is so totally not a 4th grade book. He understood what happens pretty well. Can't wait to see the movie. Thanks for the update.

This was such a great movie, but I cried way too much for a movie theater. Even DH was crying....I'd have waited to see it on DVD if I had known.

AWWWWW! I knew it was sad, even though I never read it or saw the movie. I opted NOT to teach it in 4th grade! Stone Fox was sad enough!!!

I just bought the book. I'm really trying to interest my grandsons ( 9 & 11) in reading. I told them I had it and if we read it together I'd take them to see it. They said "Grama, we already saw the movie". I guess I'll read it myself and then see what they have to say about it.
