Scary ordeal today!

So I am in the city because my daughter is playing hockey and my dh phones me... me thinking he wants to know he she is doing. Nope I get asked - do we have fire insurance ön the car? I am like what... why... what happened. Apparently as he was filling up with gas, he went to check the oil opened up the hood and smoke started pouring out and then flames. He grabbed the fire extinguisher and put it out... but this is as HE IS PUMPING GAS... I could have been a widow today, so I am thanking my lucky stars... less one car but still have my dh!!!

Have to wait until Monday to find out... when we can talk to the insurance company, I am pretty sure we do... it does not specifically state on the policy you get like all perils, acts of nature etc. so we need to double check.

My husband is a pretty laid back kind of guy, so he is like it was no big deal...he said he panicked for a few seconds then just did what he had to do.. he is a farm boy, so he knows how to fix things LOL, if it had been me I probably would have ran! ;)

When he told called my mil and fil to pick him up as I was out of town found out and freaked out big time though. We just lost my husbands brother a few months ago in a work accident, I think if something would have happened to my dh I don't think my inlaws could have handled it!

yep donna i am with you my husband is quick thinking too...as for me not so quick i would have snatched my boys out of there CARSEATS (eek) and then ran too. that is my nightmare having to unbuckle a carseat quickly. luckily my 4 year old is in a booster and can get out on his own. very scary so glad things turned out good for you guys. ;)

Not yet we can't get it in anywhere to the adjustor from the insurance company comes and looks and that won't be until tomorrow.. I suspect it was electrical though.

She is not so little :) she is 13... with attitude LOL.. anyways they lost in overtime in the championship game and she played well they gave her the MVP for that game.. thanks for asking!
