My mom suffered a very unexpected stroke yesterday afternoon and is fighting for her life. She was air lifted to Albany Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery last night. The neurosurgon said the surgery was a success but the next 24-48 hours are critical and in God's hands. They have no idea the extent of the damage until she wakes up. The doctor has prepared us that there is a chance she may not recover but can't evaluate her any further until she responds to them in some way over the next few days. They sent us home for the night as we are not able to see her again until tomorrow. I live a little over an hour from the medical center and the rest of my family is about 2 hours away. I am numb right now and have no idea what to do or what to expect. I slept for a bit but have found myself wandering around our family room for the last few minutes trying to decide if I wanted to fall back asleep or log onto the computer. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
