My thumb has been twitching uncontrollably for about a week

It's been driving me crazy. I finally showed my DH and he said I need to go to the Dr. right away in case it was the beginning of Parkinsons. No way! Plus it hurts! It just keeps twitching. I finally mentioned it to someone at work and he told me about one of my co-workers who had similar symptoms -- BLACKBERRY THUMB! He wore a splint for a month!

I did make an appointment for Wednesday, but I'm not going to Shackapaloosa in a thumb splint... I guess I'll have to start using my Blackberry with my LEFT thumb....

You can't change yesterday, but you can ruin today by worrying about tomorrow.

  2. haha... that's kinda funny it is called blackberry thumb. I will have to warn my DH. Dont get blackberry thumb in the other hand too! Hope your thumb is back to normal by shackapalooza!
    Happy Crafting!

well, look on the bright side

you can still stamp without using your thumb!!!
    afterall stamping is more important!!
    lol
I hope it's just a matter of resting it. maybe a hand massage would help?

I have that on my Left thumb... but not from the blackberry... I carry a very heavy bag for my Therapy equipt and I am constantly lifting it up on my shoulder with my thumb...stupid me... Cortison works...but hurts like heck going in. But Splinting and rest is really my only cure. Hope yours gets better soon...but Cindi is right...is doesnt effect my stamping.

I didn't know you could get something like this. Good thing I don't have a blackberry! Maybe they should come with warning labels: Caution: Blackberry could cause uncontroble thumb shakes, please use with caution! LOL! Hope it's all well soon.

Blackberry thumb, oh that hillilarious. Not funny for you, but the term is. DH got a blackberry in Sept. if he starts to twitch, I'll know what the term is. Nancy, sending the chant, "no more twitching, no more twitching."

  8. I've never heard of such a thing! I guess with all the technology we have out today there are lots of new "ailments." I remember someone recently having neck pain from looking down at their laptop.

Hope you get some relief from the pain and twitching in your thumb. It would drive me nuts too.
