  2. If I brought cole slaw to a BBQ, I would probably just pick some up at chick fil a (It's my favorite!), but if you're determined to make your own, check this out.

    Chick-Fil-A Cole Slaw

    6 cups shredded cabbage
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 cup shredded carrots
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 to 1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup real mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip)
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 to 3 drops hot sauce
    3 Tbsp. dry minced onion
    1/4 to 1/2 cup buttermilk

Mix and chill first 6 ingredients for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise, celery seed, hot sauce, minced onion and buttermilk.

Mix sauce well with cabbage. Chill.

My coleslaw recipe is really different! It is called Slim-slaw and is from a great recipe book that converts regular recipes to healthy options. (I know, with all the veges coleslaw is pretty good already!). Anyway, this is very popular and I get lots of requests to bring it to BBQs etc. Let me know if you try it, how you like it.

    1/4 cabbage- thinly shredded
1 cup diced red capsicum (bell peppers)
    1 small onion- finely diced
    1 cup grated carrot
    1 cup sliced celery
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup pinenuts (may be toasted, but I don't)
    1 apple- diced (skin on)
    1/3 cup sultanas
1/2 cup 97% fat free mayo
1 level teasppon curry powder- or to taste
    salt and pepper to taste

Stir curry powder into mayo. Mix with all other ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Refrigerate until required.

This recipe serves 12 as a side dish and has 77 calories per serve

Sarah, may I ask what are sultanas? I feel like I should know this, but I don't.

This one sounds good too! Maybe I'll have to make a little of both! Thanks Sarah.

Wikipedia tells me that sultanas may be called golden raisins in USA

I usually just buy from Publix. I can't see making it when I can just go buy it. Hubby didn't marry Martha Stewart.
