Thread: Why I prefer Copic SKETCH markers to Ciao markers

Why I prefer Copic SKETCH markers to Ciao markers

For those of you who have tried Copic Markers, you know that you can buy them as Sketch markers or as Ciao markers and that they do the same thing -- but the Ciao markers are cheaper.

I started out with a handful of Sketch markers, found some cheaper Ciao markers and bought them.

The Sketch markers have the numbers on the end caps. The Ciao markers have the numbers on the sides. Since I know understand the numbering system -- I can't stand the Ciao markers! I can easily grab the lighter or darker Sketch marker by the numbers on the caps!

I only have a few Ciao markers -- but I think they have to go.

That's good to know, Nancy. Thanks for that. I recently purchased about 30 of the sketch markers and I am in LOVE! I love that brush end and the way they blend. They blend much easier than the Prisma markers.

another bonus to the sketch over the Ciao is that sketch markers come in way more colors...like at least 100 more

I have a bazillion of the "originals" Copics. They have a chisel tip on one end and a small pointy tip on the other.
They have a square body which eliminated rolling all over the place! I have one of the round ones...great little lemon yellow that Lesa gave me, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE those originals!!!

I have a few of the Sketch and a few of the Ciao... I like the Ciao for the thin end... let me know if you ever want to sell your Ciao. I guess I have never looked at from that point of view... I know I will now...lol

The Sketch and the Ciao have the exact same ends -- one fine and one brush end. I think the only difference is the shape!

Isn't there some way you could use a hole punch and punch round stickers and label the ends?

I just tried it and it works, but I don't know how long they will stay there.

I don't think that would work since the caps have those little breather holes in them.

I think the Sketch markers have more ink in them too...just a little more.

I now have ALL the Ciao markers (I like them because they are small and easy to handle) and am now moving into the Sketch marker colors (I also like them because they are very comfortable to hold).

I have found that I really prefer them stored on their sides because they get VERY juicy tips (drippy) if they are stored vertically. I just ordered and received the plastic boxes for them (from OOZAK) and WOW! It beats my old storage solution. I can store all my Ciao's in two plastic containers. I'm working on filling up the Sketch containers!
