(Tim Holtz) Distressed! I need help!

Has anyone used the distressed powders? They don't seem to be like regular embossing powders. I've tried it twice, and got two different results. I'm working on Sarah's Eyes Swap and want to get it right. Can anyone help me???

I have some them. What I have noticed is that it's hard to tell when they are melted. They almost look exactly the same as when they aren't. What is the problem you are having?

They get a bit lighter when adhered and will feel like sandpaper. Be sure to shake up the powder before using. Wait until it is cool and then rub your hand over it to rub off the release crystals. They are supposed to rub off in some areas to give a distressed look. Don't put the released crystals back in the jar, toss them out. To get a nice distressed look use a different color of distress ink than the color of powder you use, since it will show through.

Well, the first one I did, the powder stuck to the whole piece. I tapped and brushed some off, but it stuck all over. It looks kind of cool. The second one I tried, the powder only stuck to the image, but I'm not sure it looks right. I'd post a pic, but I don't have the resizing tool on this laptop and my files are too big to upload.

Maybe this is my problem. I used versamark (no color) and rose distress powder.
