I have a pad of thick paper about place mat size. I buy the pad for $1.50. It has about 60 sheets on it. I use one at a time and when it get to icky I just throw it away and replace with a new piece.

I use a glass cutting board that I got from Walmart. it gives sharp images and is very easy to keep clean.

I use a few different things.
First, I have that craft sheet down all the time.
My trouble is that the left corner is all curly because my arm rubs against it.
Aside from that, it's great!
I also use pages from a DOODLE PAD. I have found them various places, but I know I used to get them at ACM's but haven't found them there lately.
Also, if an image isn't stamping everything, like a large stamp, I place an old mouse pad on the counter, then a piece of cardstock and the softness of the mousepad helps the image to stamp completely.
That's it for me!

I usually use just my tabletop (and it shows!) If I need to stamp off page, I have tons of messed up printer sheets, used "swaps" pages or rarely, a fresh piece of copy paper.
I really, really, REALLY want to order some SU grid papers. I never really saw the need for them until I was trying to stamp 3 images in a line. I had my stamp-a-ma-jig & thought that would be all I needed. Uh, NO!!! I then used an old SU workshop sheet & viola, the images were easy to line up using the grid to line the Stamp-a-ma-jig clear sheet w/the lines.
Now, if I could just talk myself into spending the $$$ on it at my next party. I always talk myself out of it 'cause I want DSP or Cardstock or a stamp set or...... This is why I NEVER ended up w/the rubber scissors & now, I won't need them since they are all die-cut now!!
I Use my ranger Craft mat...love it....wipes right up... but I put that on top of a board... I also use the SU Grid paper sometimes.

The company I work for gives out calendar desk pads every year. I get the left-overs every February. They cover most of my table and when it gets messy I just tear off that month.

I use a mat made by Martha Steward that I got at Michael's. You can stamp and cut on it with your craft knife (self heals) and it also has a measuring grid on it. I have had it for about a year now and it works great.

I use old desk calendars, paper from printing, magazines and to glue I always use magazines or catalogs, just glue on the page and turn it over and then throw it away. - Nancy

Guess I should answer the question....I usually just stamp on my tv table (that I got for free over the summer) or my craft/kitchen table in my room. I have to find some place sturdy cuz some times it doesn't come out too good. And when I am at work, my desk at work works pretty good. I just gotta stand up and lean really good
