One of my closest friends DF son who is in the miltary in afganstan was injured in a bomb explosion and is on life support in Germany . The goverment is flying his mom and dad over there probably tonight. Please keep the family and their son in your prayers. Also pray that I can be the best support I can be at this time as I am close to the father and his gf.

Update - They did a Cat scan on Josh yesterday morning then they weny in to remove scrapnel from his scull. and discoved that there was swelling on the brain and a vein collaped that takes blood out of the brain.(Not sure what this means and nurses out there please help.) They also called and requested that his younger sister go with the parent to Germany and got approved to stay over there until Jully 14th

Not sure I can explain properly. The skull is like a container, that can hold only so much. If the blood vessels that carries deoxygenated blood are collapsed, then not much oxygenated blood can get in. With any head trauma, introcranial pressure is monitored, and relieved by inducing comas and trying to relieve the pressure.
