A good friend of Drew and Katie's was killed in Afganistan this week. I have always been aware of the sacrifices our military men and women and their families make but this has really hit us hard. Ben's wife, Nicole is a good friend of Katie's. The kids just attended their wedding in February. Nicole is alone in Clarksville until she meets Ben's family in Dover, when they bring him home. I pray that her military family is helping her through this.

oh, this is so sad. It does really hit home when it's someone you know and you see the pain and suffering up close. I'm sending up prayers for the loved ones, and all our troops.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Our troops put everything on the line for us. We should all be so grateful to them and their families for all they sacrifice in defense of our liberties. Maybe we could all send cards to this boy's family? Or send cards to our soldiers, to let them know how much we appreciate them?
