My son, Grant, just got "promoted" from 8th grade.... now he will be in high school....

Now to brag. Last night I got a call from a lady saying he was nominated by his teachers to attend a leadership academy next year. It meets one day a month a 20 kids are nominate to participate. They learn leadership and community involvement skills. I go the information tonight and it is quite impressive. This will be a really good opportunity for him.

This is the kid that had a heck of a time getting his homework in from 4th grade through 7th. He did better this year. He has great potential, just needs to decide to "go for it!"

Congratulations to you & Grant. Sometimes it just takes them a little while to get in gear, but once they get the right gear, off to the races.

Shirley, I have read about his struggles here, and it is awesome to see him blossom into a leader. How wonderful that they have recognised his potential
