We finally have a diagnosis. He has early onset PVD. It usually happens over age 65 and hubby is 41, so it's rare to happen so young. They are following him closely since he continues to have alot of symptoms and they are concerned that a retinal tear or separation may still occur. Here is a link if you want to read more about the condition: LINK. (http://www.rnib.org.uk/xpedio/groups/public/documents/PublicWebsite/public_rnib003660.hcsp) It is a nuisance in his field of vision, but doesn't cause loss of sight unless there is a tear or separation of the retina. So, he is back to work and learning to accomodate it. He is experiencing the light flashes about every 10 minutes which is way more than most people.
Thanks everyone for keeping him in your thoughts & prayers. Now we are truly hoping to be done with docs and hospitals for a while.

Glad you have a diagnosis and keeping all of you in prayers. I'm sure it is frustrating for DH to have the light flashes so often.

Tami, I'm glad to know they've given you a diagnosis, but oh dear, what a year you and your family has had. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. So good to know though that your hubby can get back to work and learn to accomodate.
Hugs to you!

Tami, knowing what you have to deal with somehow makes it easier. I scanned through the information on the link you provided, and it sounds like this is a nuisance as much as anything -- albeit a BIG nuisance! Hopefully your hubby will become accustomed to it and it will calm down. Good luck and I'm glad it isn't more serious! Nancy

Tami,
Thanks for the update on DH eye! I was just thinking that we had not heard anything- which I was hoping was a good thing! Glad to see that it is not anything to bad- just a nuisance! Hope DH learns to deal with and it well continues to take his awesome photos!

Oh dear. I'm sorry to hear about it. That is so unfortunate, especially, at his age. I'm glad the doctor's were able to diagnose it, though.
