sticking to their resolution to get healthy?

In the month of January, I've lost a total of five pounds. This is just the pace that I wanted, also. Not too much too soon. Otherwise, I'll have a lot of saggy skin hanging around. Still doing well with making healthy food choices. Still drinking a lot of water. Exercise is still difficult due to physical therapy, but I'm satisfied with my progress so far. During my business trip this week, I managed to stay away from fast-food. Thankfully, during our lunches, we've been offered green salads, so I've been eating that and skipping the sub sandwiches. I've drank a few glasses of soda, but have not overdone it. Did you know that soda is really bad for your bones? The acid in soda (even diet) robs your bones of calcium. Another reason for me to skip it, if at all possible.

How is everyone doing? Care to share what is working and what's not working for ya?

Hi, all,
I have to get weighed and measured tomorrow at Curves. I'll have to let you know~
I AM trying very hard to stay away from too many snacks, sticking with a lower carb. lifestyle, and exercising at least 3x a week.
GOOD LUCK ALL!

I've lost what I gained over Christmas plus another four pounds and am down a total of 46 pounds since January '07. I am intentionally going slow since I get really sick when I loose weight faster. My biggest challenge coming up will lie in Superbowl Sunday with all those yummy snacks!

As for the soda, Ethel's right. Some additional info regarding that is that it is the dark sodas, the ones with phosphoric acid that leeches calcium from your bones. Calcium also lowers your calcium levels. Soda isn't good for you in general, but I've always been a big diet soda drinker (up until a few months ago, I never drank coffee and it was my caffeine). So, I've been having some different diet sodas lately that are a tad bit healthier.....made without phosphoric acid and some sweetened with Splenda instead of aspartame.

Joanie, it sounds like you are taking a very healthy approach!

THe scale didn't do much this month but I kept up my exercise all month. People have been remarking that I look better so maybe I'm redistributing the weight. I've been a little sloppy on the eating so I need to get back on track with that.

I have been a slacker the last 2 weeks, and haven't hit the gym.
I really need to get back there and bust my butt!

I have been shocking. Being on holiday for 7 weeks has played havoc with my routine. I have socialised too much and not exercised enough. So, back to work and into my healthy eating routine,
Muesli and yoghurt for b'fast, fruit for morning tea, salad at lunch- no dressing, and healthy dinners.
I still need to work on exercising more. But I do walk a lot in my job
