I found this on another board. It says this is how WW is figuring your daily points under the new program. It actually added like 4 more points per day for me. I'm not sure how I feel about that. But anways......here it is:

Your Personal Daily Points Target

1. Are you:
Female?.........score 2
Male?...........score 8
Female and Breastfeeding?.....score 12

2. How old are you?
17-26..............score 4
27-37..............score 3
38-47..............score 2
48-58..............score 1
over 58............score 0

3. What do you weigh?
Enter the 1st 2 digits of your weight in pounds.

4. How tall are you?
under 5'1.........score 0
5'1 to 5'10.......score 1
over 5'10.........score 2

5. Do you spend most of your day:
sitting down?........score 0
Occasionally sitting, but mainly standing?..... score 2
Walking most of the time?......score 4
Doing physically hard work most of the time?
score 6

6. Do you want to:
Lose weight?...........score 0
Maintain your current weight?....score 4

Add together and that's your daily Target.

wow. that's a lot of points for me...

so the only way your points will go down is by losing 10 pounds and changing the amount of the first two digits of your weight. right?

It adds points for me too.. Points look like they will go down every ten pounds, or when you change age brackets.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!!

According to this lovely chart, I would have to eat ONLY 16 points a day. HOW IN THE HECK AM I GONNA DO THAT? No way, no how!!!

I am in total depression right now. I cannot believe it!!!!! This is not good!! :(

wah wah wah

Hurry, someone needs to cheer me up!!!!

Sherri, did you add in the first two digits of what you weigh now? I counted about 7 pts. for you, and then I don't know your weight to add to the equation (I was guessing on your height and age).

Mine came out to exactly what I get now anyway. Hmmmm...

yes, I too am wondering how Sherri got 16 for herself. Are you 5'1" Sherri??? I don't know how much you weigh, but I *thought* I remembered what you had on your weight ticker, and if I add that together and give you a "2" for the activity question (which you may actually be higher), then I come up with more.

Maybe you should do it again.

I also heard that the minimum # of points is 18.

so you add the first two numbers or your weight? or just list them?

example: if you weigh 145...is it 5 points (added) or 14 (first two numbers?)

i'm confused

You guys are going to think I have lost it. Say my weight is 143. I ADDED 4+3 and got 7. HA HA

So do I take 14 and add it to the rest of the numbers. I come up with 21. WHEW!!

I was so upset.... thank the lord!! ha ha

Am I doing it right? And I am not sure where I fall in the activity level.

Also, I am BARELY 5'1" but I am going to say I am. ha ha I must have that extra point ...

And I want to know what Erin's points are since she is nursing... she may have 50 a day!! WOW!!!!

Is that what i have to do to get more points? ha ha

for your weight you use the first two numbers.....do not add them together. so if you weigh 150, then it would be 15.

Cindi---I'm not sure you figured yours right either. Maybe you should try again. Do NOT add the first 2 #'s of your weight together......

okay, well I don't know how old you are, and I also don't know how tall you are. BUT...you get 2 points for being female, and 1 point if you're over 5'1", and, and if I only give you 2 points for age, that's an automatic 5 points. That means you would have to only weigh 100 pounds to be at 15, and that's also assuming you're getting ZERO for your activity level. I'm thinking you don't weigh 100 pounds, or this probably wouldn't be an issue, right??? LOL

I'm just under 5'4
and I hate to put this in writing but I weigh 201. Shh...don't tell a soul!!!
My df has asked me a few times over the years and I just say a lady never tells!
I made him leave the Dr.s office once so I could tell the nurse my info! LOL
oh, and I'm 41.
So I think I have 25..but that seems too much!

I think that if you are happy with the point level you are at now and losing at a comfortable pace for you why change it? Dont fix it if it aint broke right? I go tonight to get the official program but I have not been really counting points lately.....guess thats why my loss has slowed some too....

It says I can have 23 points. I've never done ww and I have no idea how you girls know how many points food has. I want to play to, but don't I have to buy the ww books or something?

lisaguyon
12-12-2006, 05:31 PM
I would think that you need the books to know the basic points of things. I can get you a point slider and mail it to you but that only helps if you know the fiber, fat and calories of the food. The book makes it so much easier and is not expensive. lisa

Don't attack me!

I am nursing... I can eat 34 points! Now when I stop nursing I'm gonna feel like I'm starving! Maybe Ethan can just nurse forever? Maybe when he's done I can find some other kid to nurse?

I'm just gonna have to become very active when he stops nursing!

ouch Erin...if he nurses forever....lol
