One of my good friends from church (Jean) started working for Peebles Department Store a week ago, and she is loving her part-time job. So I asked her to ask Amy, the manager, if they need more part-time help. Amy also goes to my church too but has been on vacation and I haven't seen her for 2 weeks at church. Jean saw her yesterday afternoon as she had to work, and she said Amy is back from vacation. She asked Amy if she needed anymore part-time help, and Amy told her to tell me to come see her later this week at the store.

With the holidays approaching, most stores hire seasonal help, so I just might give this a whirl since my boss cut me back to 2 days.

well, you certainly don't let the grass grow under your feet , Jan- I admire your motivation for job seeking. I'm sure something that's just right will come up for you.
What do they sell at "Peebles"?

Peebles sells some housewares like towels, bedding, decorative things. Mostly they sell clothing for men, women and children, lingerie, shoes, jewelry, purses/other accessories and they have a new Estee Lauder counter (cosmetics and perfume.)

that sounds like our "Myers" department stores. If you got a discount, it would be a great thing too.

This is perfect - you can stay at the attorney's office 2 days a week and work part-time at Peebles (we have one here too - I like that store :D). I used to work retail - its GREAT exercise because you are on you feet and walking around most of the day - how's THAT for added benefit?! Depending on how many hours they can schedule you for, you should still have time to get ready to start a full-time job in January.

That sounds like a great solution for now, Jan. I always liked working in retail. It's fun to help people spend their money. When I did it, I hated to go shopping in my spare time, though. That's a great money saver.

I will give it a shot as a temporary solution, but I'm still thinking of looking for a full time job after Christmas....something with good benefits.
