Tim and many happy crafters just finished a cruise to Mexico. The next cruise has already been announced for Sept-Oct 2010 New England (http://scrapmap.com/sm_canada_0910.html)to Halifax, NS. I had a grand trip with him last year and while it is spendy it is a memorable trip.

Oh wow, I just watched the cruise video on Tim's blog, and it looks like the trip was fabulous! I think I'd like to cruise with Tim some day. I suppose I'd take DH along too.

Jan, did you take your husband with you? Was there enough to keep him entertained while you crafted?

Cruise ships are full of entertainment/activities. There are always lots of options including in room movies and quiet public areas if you want some alone time too. Most people are very friendly and will share in conversation or give share their experience. If you read travels reviews about the specific ship it will give you an idea of what kind activities occur on board. One of the nice things Tim does is to break the the participants in to smaller class sizes. Everyone attends a class daily while out to sea and he repeats the same for each group. Each group rotates to a different time each day so you don't miss anything else that is happening one the cruise more than once.

Joanie--the trip I took left from Seattle and I felt that was the cheapest cruise departure location I would find. Cutting costs in air travel is the only way to get a cheaper special event cruise.

My DD went on a cruise on Explorer of the Seas and said it was a fabulous ship. She loved it.

I cruised with Tim on the Mariner of the Seas to Ensenada, Mexico. It was a great time! The ship even has a casino. Between that and the views from upper deck where the swimming pool and hot tubs are, my dh was very entertained while I was in class! LOL!

I wonder about using the pools while in the Northeast during the fall, though!

Where did your ship from Seattle go? That would be awesome since I'm right here.

The ship did a roundtrip to the Inside Passage and southeast Alaska...and since I had always wanted to see that far part of the state it worked for me. That was Tim's first trip that he coordinated and it seems like he is continuing to only do one per year. I do know I looked into one other short stamping cruise out of NJ and the additional flights and overnights just made it too expensive for me.

It sounds heavenly. I've only dreamed about this so far, but it's fun to dream. Thanks for giving us a heads up, Jan.
