not quite home...police, knives and DRAMA...

Hi Ladies. First of all..what an INCREDIBLE weekend!

We landed at Suzi's house after 8 hours of driving, and I thought I was OK to continue on for the next 5 hours to Kansas.
DH said the weather was bad and I should stop...so I stop at a motel where the clerk was FRANTIC and locking the doors...telling me to HURRY IN .... A man JUST left the lobby after walking in with his pants open, a knife in his hand and having told her "this is not going to be good for you".

For some reason, he left, and then he went around the building and tried to get in the back door while she was running around locking up...and then I was trying to come in the front as the man was close behind me.....yikes! He couldnt get in, and I told her to call 911...

anyway, I ended up staying with the 23 yr old girl for an hour while the police found him trying to get back into the building...with a knife in his hand!!!
After he was taken away in hand cuffs, I tried to calm her down and now I am trying to calm down and go to sleep too.....

tomorrow I will head home....an incredible weekend....I'll let Suzi talk about how lovely I am as a travel partner! lol
PS I got a REALLY cheap hotel room!!

Holy Moses, Cheryl!!! I would've braved the thunderstorms before going through that (not that you would've known that was going to happen.) I am so glad you are safe. Geez Louise!!
