Favourite background techniques for Masculine cards
I love to try different background techniques, but find many are more suited to feminine type cards. Please share your favourite techniques for masculine cards. if you have a link to a tutorial, that would be a fabulous resource for us all.
Also feel free to share your favourite colour combos for "manly" cards.

Re: Favourite background techniques for Masculine cards
I like doing stamping on metal or cork backgrounds...perhaps with some background stamp such as a crackle, woodgrain, fishnet or wire. Sometime embossing the background for some dimension.
Favorite combo is rust, blue and black.

I haven't tried the faux leather. That's sounds interesting, Nicole. Thanks for reminding me about stamping on other mediums, Jan. I'm going to have fun trying these out again.

I'm loving the video classes that jan has l;inked for us from 2 peas. For manly cards I like to use greens, blues, browns and all earth tones.

Re: Favourite background techniques for Masculine cards
I like the squished up plastic wrap background and you get to recycle doing it too(or at least use it again before it goes in the trash) Use any peice of plastic wrap that comes off of packaging, or you can even use a plastic grocery bag, squish it in your hand and then use it like a sponge with your ink to make a background. I like to use sepia and dark hunter green. I put down the sepia first and then just use a little of the dark green and tap it lightly. I will try to do a card with this background and post it to the gallery.
