I have used a similar technique for several years. In fact I just recently sent off my Christmas card fronts swap to MJ in which I used my version of the sparkling embossed background. Basically the difference is my personal preference that I choose to create my own background paper with distress inks and that I only sparsely cover the embossing with a thin coat of stickles. It really dosen't take much to get a light sparkle. Here is my tutorial on my blog.
Shelly, I am unclear what you are saying when you wrote "I also pinned it." Maybe I missed something but I don't recall ever seeing that on your posts before. Does the Shack now have a Pinterest Page? If so where to I learn more info about it....THANKS!
I have a pinterest account. So when I say I pinned it, I mean that I pinned it to my account. I know a bunch of us from here have accounts on Pinterest.

I am anxious to try these techniques. Thanks Shelley and Jan for sharing!

I love your technique Jan, and what a quick way to use up some of the pretty backgrounds that I made earlier in the year.
